SPDIF splitter, two HiFaces or other options?

I've got a HiFace running on my main audio system (modded direct drive acoustat tube amps driving a pr of 2+2's) using MediaMonkey w/ kernel streaming. BTW-The HiFace is fantastic! I am SO glad I found info on it here! Now, here's my problem...

I also have an ADA whole house music system. I want to be able to play the PC source via the HiFace, and at the same time run an additional output to my whole house system. I have extra DACs laying around. The PC's outputs are dead (analog and optical) when using the kernel streaming/HiFace with media monkey.

Is it possible to run two HiFaces and get two spdif outs? I can't think of any other way? Or is there a way to split the spdif without degrading the signal (doubtful)? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe somebody has access to a pair of hiface's to see if they can both run off a USB hub and output dual kernel streaming spdif outs?

I'd sure like to be able to enjoy the same music throughout the house, out on the deck, etc! I can use my preamp's tape out loop, but I plan on eliminating the preamp altogether from my main system. Any Ideas? Please advise! Thanks! -Mike

Still looking for a solution... I just ordered a Buffalo II DAC and would like to use the BII for my main system, and another DAC for the whole house system. So, I still need a way to split the SPDIF to feed two DACs. Any suggestions? Thanks! -Mike

yes, repeater is active. so what? what's the problem?

the circuit is so simple, its almost funny. back to back toslink blocks. 1 receiver (TORX) and 2 transmitters (TOTX). pick 5v ones (there are 3v and 5v ones, be sure you get the right ones) and then simply connect them back to back. make a y connection and wire-OR them together, the 1 input torx and the 2 torx transmitters. note that pinouts are NOT the same on totx and torx.

you also want .1uf bypass on all of them and chokes on the receiver blocks (data sheet stuff).

I just built something like this recently and so its fresh in my mind 😉

you don't daisy chain spdif. you receive the signal and recreate it. its how its done. trust me.
