Do you need to design the box or make drawings?
I use MacSpeakerz for my design work and VectorWorks for doing drawings. The first has not been available for a couple decades, the latter is not cheap.
If i need a horn or TL i tap Scottmoose’s design expertise and his collection of software tools.

Kinda looks like VectorWorks, along with Autocad morphed into mainly Architectural packages years ago, which probably reflects the cost.

Yes, current VectorWorks cost near tripled so that it matched AutoCAD pricing.
It is heavily used in architecture but has specific modules for things like lighting design and has all the bits to do mechanical work. I only use it for fairly simple things (like speaker boxes).

Free - Fusion 360 is a good option. I'd think of it as a slimmed down version of Inventor.
OnShape- Free to use if you sign up as a student. Completely web based so no software installation required, however as a free student account everything created is "public domain". I like onshape for the lack of OS dependency and it's quite easy to use IMO.
FreeCAD - Very powerful CAD software, like anything else complex, there's a learning curve.

+1 for free Fusion360, well worth the effort to learn, not too hard compared to others and very rewarding.
Google sold SketchUp which was free cad

Think I will try that as well.
I looked at my system and running 8.
Seems what I was use to, but found few oddities.
And remember much more export options.
Likely why if 8 doesnt have dxf.
I wanna say many years ago I started at 3
and after few updates. Was very happy
and familiar with the program.
