Thomann E-800 shutting down

Hello everyone! I have a Thomann E-800 amp used for upper bass in a four way system. The drivers for this channel are highly efficient, so I run the amp at very low level to achieve a balanced overall sound. After 15 minutes it shuts down when listening at normal living room levels, I believe because it does not recognise a signal as coming from the DSP. When it is turned up it works fine, it's just really annoying having to turn it off and on again when being used quietly. I have tried the sensitivity switch on the back but it doesn't seem to stop it happening. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get round this? Thank you!

Hello. Is the schematic available ? What ideas are coming in my mind , is to increase signal detection circuit sensitivity, or move volume control after all the preamp part , that would ensure detection circuit will receive strong signal.
Actually, how you are adjusting volume now? In signal source probably?

I sometimes have the same issue with the smallest amp of this series when used for a horn driver. I can confirm that it is annoying. If someone has the schematic of that signal detection circuit I would also try to override it on mine. The other solution is to listen at loud levels - but this is not too healty at all. 😉

Regards

Charles

P.S.: This is not a class-d amp BTW

Hiya, thanks for your replies! @ximikas you are correct, volume controlled from a mixer once the relative volumes of the channels were set in the DSP. I also have a dub preamp for high dB EQ functions. I can't see a schematic online, but the manual can be found here: https://images.thomann.de/pics/prod/173889_manual.pdf.

@phase_accurate, I prefer it loud but the neighbours not so much! And yes, it is a class H but I couldn't see that option in the menu, and wasn't sure how the system worked so just entered the nearest option. I am new to posting here, but a long time lurker...
