OK, so my son touched a 9V battery to the speaker wires of my Denon 3802 and it went into protect mode (and it won't come out of it). I brought it to a local repair shop and after looking at it, he was afraid to do anything with it. I called a Denon service group and they want over $200 just to look at it. I have some basic electronic skills and some tracing and troubleshooting equipment. I guess what I am asking is beyond replacing burnt resistors in the circuit, what else is likely to have been damaged? Thanks in advance.

Yep that looks right. Next you need to download the manual. It's in PDF. The best you can do to get help here on the forum is to do the grunt work up front. Try to cut out the schematic and post it here. It's proballly to big to get the whole thing posted at one time, but start with the output and speaker circutry. You could print the schematic pages and then scan them to a gif or jpeg and post them. Like I said free help is never free.
Well, I looked carefully and I do not see any burnt resistors. The fuse that blew blew again when I replaced the original (surprise, since I had not made any other corrections). I am uploading the schematics that I believe will be helpful. Thanks for any help that you all can provide.
Pls help need schematic diagram of IU 3338-1 & 3338-2 also the diagram for front panel unit to access the IC model nbr. Thks
