Tube powered active interconnect cable

But you need $499 power cord...

"Tube rolling, power cord rolling, interconnect rolling are all a reality for the first time in an active interconnect. The concept of a tube powered cable has never been seen before. After much research and listening tests, the impossible has been achieved. Other cables are just wire in comparison. This Tube Powered BCS is a reality machine."

Shrug. Nothing new here. Omega Mikro, Synergistic Research, Audioquest, etc have been selling "active shield" cables for many years.
Aural thrills makes battery-powered cables, too, not just the "tube power" one. I used to have a couple of them, and the active bias on the shield does obviously change the sound, in the similar direction as Omega Mikro, Synergistic, Audioquest models I have tried in the past.
Not saying it's better or worse 🙂

"This is one of the few cables that I have tried that handles any music you throw at it."

I had not realized this was a problem until now. I don't have $799 to throw at this cable, so I wonder if I ought to be swapping cables following my music choices? What happens if I go to random play? 😱

We might rise the San José for a guaranteed supply of just mined pure Silver, vintage 1708

Imagine all the wire, capacitor splate, etc. we can make with its contents.

A mere 20 Billion worth of silver.

I bet after all its years at the bottom of the Sea, Music through it must have a fresh, watery, liquid, burbling sound added, what else?

Playing Nemo DVDs or watching Spongebob Squarepants will sound so "natural".

Next up, tube powered transformer-less speaker cables! (You get wire in a plastic tube)

This is almost like the guy selling a picture of some popular gaming system - for the price of the actual gaming system.

It's not my fault they didnt read the listing carefully!

If this is to become a DIY project, I could think of a few small improvements to make the sound a little more organic and at the same time add some subtile room acoustics changes. Also the WAF of the construction may benefit a little bit.

What????You mean that this is a step up from my current interconnects? Really, I got them from a well known high end audio store when they closed down......Radio Shack, and my speaker wire came from Walmart!

OK, the interconnects are pretty well built for a Radio Shack product and were too pricey to sell there at $29.95, but not bad when I got a box full of cables, some parts, including a few transformers for $50. Our local store died quickly and I went there on the last day they were open. Sprint bought Radio Shack and tried to turn the local store into a Sprint phone store. Large displays and even some phones were delivered to the store before anyone realized that Sprint had no cellular coverage at all in this county.

We lived in an area in Florida where Boom Boom cars were a big thing. The local Walmart had speaker wire all the way up to 8 gauge, 1 Farad stiffening caps and other stuff needed for rattling the trunk lid on a $200 Crown Vic. I got several 12 and 14 gauge spools of speaker wire before leaving Florida over 6 years ago. It looked exactly like the Monster Cable from the Home Depot next door for about 1/4 the price. I think that fad has finally died down, since all of those kids are older and listen to their music with white wires coming from their ears now.

George,

I also use Wal-Mart speaker cable. But it’s just that cheap Woods brand extension cord. I’m probably one of the only guys that has a $10k (bought them when they where discontinued, paid half) speaker driven by a Wal-Mart extension cord! 😀
