ultra low noise 24v dv 2 pin 40x40 mm fan

ultra low noise 24v dc 2 pin 40x40 mm fan

I bought a class d amp from gear4music 2x226 watt in 8 ohm

I expected the fan to be noisy, it is, air noise from the back grill (a bit high rpm), and coilwhine, high pitched noise.

I took the fan out of the case (one rubber dampening screw or what ever it's called got damaged, the end that's on the rear, with the grill in the middle and then the fan).

I want an ultra low noise 24v dv 2 pin 40x40 mm fan but which ?

noise blocker makes a 4020-5500-24 fan but where to get it ?

Stock fan way to high rpm and coilwhine (thank god it was from the fan and not something else)

I built myself a pair of monoblock First Watt F2J amps in my own cases.

I decided from the start that they should have fans to assist cooling.

At the time, I simply used some RadioShack fans that I had on hand and created a dedicated supply with voltage regulation to control noise by balancing the fan RPM with cooling needs.

It worked well, but the fans have steadily become noisier.

After some research I came across recommendations of Noctua fans in other threads.

Noctua

You can order them on Amazon.

I’ve received a pair, but haven’t installed them yet.

I got the FLX series fan. It comes with a variety of connectors that allow 3 pin to 2 pin conversion easily.

Just another option to consider.

Not possible, it has to be a 24 volt fan

I don't know why they use 24volt fans (limited of the board ?),it's limiting for those who find the fans noisy, why not just 12 volt fans ?

On the amp there is Short Circuit, Limiter, DC Fault, AC Line Fuse, Thermal Cut but it get's a little hot, in no way as hot as some nad c326 can get, i still want to use a fan

It took a great deal of load (strees) for me taking the fan out, grill noise and high pitched noise was unacceptable but i still want to use an ultra low noise fan

I had the same problem with my Symetrix 8x8DSP and I solved it by getting a gelid silent 12V fan and a cheap 24->12V buck converter from Ebay. I soldered the converter inline with the fan cable and covered it with wide heat shrink tube to insulate it. You can use a 3 pin fan and just remove the tacho wire.
