Hi,
I recently purchased A Vibe Space SQ12 active subwoofer 1000W RMS 3000W Peak. The sub has a built in 500W RMS amplifier. My car stereo has a special subwoofer output. The problem is that when I connect the subwoofer to the subwoofer output it doesn't produce any sound but just vibrations which get stronger and stronger as I push the volume up. If I connect the subwoofer to my front or rear speakers, there is music comming out of it but if I turn up the volume too high the whole system switches off as there have been some kind of overload. The system starts again after I turn the engine off and on again. My car stereo is a Pioneer Avic X1R 4 x 50W RMS.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance

you tried turning the gain on the sub unit down?
can you describe the vibration a little more? there shouldnt or there should barely be any voices heard through your sub...
pure bass will resemble vibration.

hi,
I've tried it with the gain and grequency set on the lowest possible level. The vibrations are some kind of interference. The best way I can explain it is as superpositioning of waves. They start low and keep on getting greater and greater (thats when its connected to the subwoofer output). When its connected to the speakers (front speakers at the moment) it plays music but its doesn't produce the frequencies that it should and also the system turns itself off when the mucis reaches certain frequencies..

i dont get it, how can you connect a dedicated subwofer with a built in amp to your front speakers?
or are you talking about the front rca jacks?
or are you talking about the front rca jacks?
Hi, I meant that its connected to the front channels (with an RCA jack), as if I connect it to the subwoofer output it doesn't produce almost any music, just vibrations..
