These are reasonably priced in Aus & good efficiency
anyone used them, or got any measurements?
cheers,

It's a very well documented driver: W 250 S - 8 Ohm
It's OK up to about 2kHz from my estimates. You can model it too: Downloads
The only aspect that you might consider is that it has a pressed steel chassis. If you want a less coloured cast chassis, look around for stuff like this: H1305-08 CA26RFX

re:"look around for stuff like this:" - if only SEAS drivers were available locally any more... freight for big drivers to Aus is a killer for a tightwad like me, & I prefer to source locally.
Looking for some serious woof, 2x 8" SB might be more effective, or I might throw caution to the wind and buy a couple of cheap 15"ers
My mids will be the last of the pre-chinese 5" Peerless 850488, & Peerless tweeter from the same era, really nice low distortion drivers

Pete, what about peerless, vifa and scan speak classic line. They are available locally for decent prices
Thanks Lojzek
Frangus - Scanspeak - overpriced (told you I was tight), Peerless, about the same price as the Visatons, & I've already got a pair of the old 850149s, damn good, but I want to try something else, (Undecided whether to go small, 8" a la 3 way classic, or Monster, 15" drivers. Don't really need another set of speakers, but it's a shame to let those peerless mids/tweeters gather dust in the shed)

Pete,
I had them measured once. Decent and simple drivers.
Have to see if I can come up with some more plots.
Lojzek, did you use delta mass or delta compliance test for generating TS parameters ?
