I have vintage compact floorstanding speakers (JMR-Jean Marie Reynaud) which has a mid woofer installed inside speaker cabinet firing upward, and tweeter and another mid woofer facing forward. Is there specific terminology for this kind of speaker configuration? Not sure if it is called Isobaric configuration or another terminology for it.
If anyone educate me on this would be hugely appreciated.

From the description, sounds like a bandpass (bass load). Probably 4th order but potentially 6th if both the front & rear chambers are vented to the room. The forward firing HF & midbass will probably be run in their own separate sealed chamber -not impossible that one would be vented, but unlikely.

that one looks a lot like an isobaric, to get volume down and increase the bass output...

It's not impossible from the external images that it might be an isobaric load, but if that was the case, I can't honestly think of a good reason why you'd mount the internal driver horizontally, since that would significantly increase the internal (isobaric -not really, but it's what they're called, so we'll go with it 😉 ) air chamber size, which is the opposite of what you'd normally want.
Two other questions: is that foam-filled slot on the front functional, i.e. does it lead to the internals? And is that a port on the rear baffle above the binding posts? A sketch or plan of the internals is probably going to be needed to be certain what's been done though.

I guess they tried some sort of tuning with the chamber instead of using the smallest chamber possible (what would be more "common")
I heared them once a very long time ago, but I always thought of JMR speakers as interesting back then.

Here is my terrible rough sketch.
The tweeter has separate chamber and round ported down chamber.
The Mid woofer at the front is ported back via round port. Inside that chamber has another midwoofer mounted facing upward. It is ported down via transmission line structure (?) which is ported at the front via rectangular vent hole. (Inside transmission structure is my estimated guess because it is impossible see how it is structured exactly unless I destroy the cabinet.
