Why do you want to spend too much money on an incomplete amplifier? There are literally hundreds (thousands?) of amps available that are far better and much more reasonably priced than those ridiculous things.

The BYOB is in my view a funny interpretation of the naked amp.especially the creators excursion in varnish/lacquer and sound-quality are entertaining. (It was sort of an entry-point into the realms of DIYA for me), bit I started to grin when he went to say that the application of that magic C-37-lacquer on the chip was doing marvels…

You linked BYOB amplifier as if it was based on lm3875 chip. But its not. BYOB is 10watts per channel tda7374 chip.

My two favorites from the page are
- the claim about "Polarity proof power connector" (yes, if you understand the meaning of black and red)
