I have been looking at a number of soft start boards on Aliexpress, Ebay, etc., and wonder if any of them are any good, if there is a "better" one,

I have several A/B amps I would like to build that have large'ish toroidal transformers and cap banks behind them. Specifically Nelson Pass AB100 and DiyAudio Wolverine amps.

Largest concern is not welding a switch turning turn on/off.

I am using it just for two months, no issues so far.
Thermal sensors are usually needed in amplifiers.
