Is anyone here doing upmixing in Windows 10? In theory it's possible to up-mix 2 channel stereo to 4, 5.1 or more channels in Windows 7,8,10 but I have not been able to get it to work. "Speaker Fill" is the normal enhancement that Windows should use for the up-mix when the system has a multi-channel card.
Chrome has some switches for audio routing that I've tried, but no luck so far. So not sure if it's browser related, or Windows.
The reason to use it is simple, to get standard stereo mixes into a Quad or surround system. A Pro Logic II type decoding built into the OS.

Have you tried Equalizer APO? It has options to remix channels (reroute, copy, combine, etc) which may work for you. Equalizer APO download | SourceForge.net
I have been unable to get it to work: if I try and copy each L/R to each surround L/R, my preamp processor down-mixes this to stereo. I'm not sure if the issue is Windows, Equalizer APO, or my processor.

Quick follow-up to say that I have since gotten it to work, and the issue was with the processor.
Thanks Mark. I do have Equalizer APO installed, but had forgotten that it does channel mixing. I'll give it a try!
VB-Audio's Voicemeeter Banana supports down-/up-mixing and much more... and EqualizerAPO integrates with it.
