You can't cut stone with a chop saw. You need a water cooled saw with a diamond blade specifically designed for the purpose. Or, if accuracy is not paramount, a diamond blade in an angle grinder will do the trick.
Whatever method you use, it is very slow, noisy and messy, so be warned! 🙂

It's also quite possible to cut marble - or any other material, for that matter - with a water jet cutter. Quick, accurate and very high finish. Unfortunately it's not exactly something a hobbyist would have at home...

Marble cutting
Suggest you go to one of the places that instal granite and marble worktops for kitchens - they cut & polish edges all the time (and drilling too) and may be willing to help.
On my own amplifiers i am using a floor time 12" x 12" x 1/2" for the front panel, but the edges are too rough - found a local worktop place that will polish the edges for me for about $12 per tile

I'm always use marble. it's easy. granite be operated on perforator, but marble - simple drill.
I hope you don't want to do lot of marble 🙂. you can cut it any cutter as well.
