Hello,
I recently got Yamaha AX-1070 integrated amplifier and it has very clean sound and lots of power reserve. The transformer is massive and parts look all good quality throughout.
All Inputs works except CD and Phono. There is no sound from those two inputs and when I crank up the volume, no hiss or hum at all but pitch black....
Those two connections have their own dedicated PCBs (CD PCB on top, Phono PCB underneath and Main PreAmp PreAmp PCB between vertically).
My guess is that the connection between those two PCBs and main preamp PCB but when I look at them, they look all good.
Can anyone guess what the issue might be?
Here are a few photos just taken.
Than you very much...

First of all spray the selector switch.
Find the manual om line.
Check the connectors for continuity.
Then the voltages.
Update us all.
Some of those aux. boards have extra preamps to boost the signal.
Also check wire from input jack to selector.

Thank you very much for those tips. i checked Input Jack to board and continuity is there but have not checked all the way. Will check further based on your suggestions. 🙂
Just tested continuity and Left and Right Ground travel all the way but Signal for Left and Right have issues.
Continuity between Jack Socket to PCB board is fine.
However, Signal does not travel all the way to the end of the PCB where CD PCB meets main Preamp Board.
This is same as Phono Board meeting main preamp board.
I highlighted where continuity ok in Yellow and no continuity in blue.
This must have been happened during transit because previous owner who sent the unit told me that it was working fine before he pack and sent it. (sigh)...

After cleaning Selector switch, it is now working for both phono and CD input.
Thank you @NareshBrd for the tips. 🙂
The selector and volume pot are motorised and somehow not working so control manually without remote but at least it produce sound from all inputs.

Tried Phono Input and there are buzz. The original cable is 2 Pin prong cable and replaced with 3 pin with ground and ground wire mounted onto chassis and it reduced the buzz noticeably. There is still slight buzz but much more listenable.
If anyone has similar model of Yamaha Amp with 2 pin prong power cable, it might be worth to try 3 pin power cable to see if it makes difference on phono section.
It would be perfect if motorised Selector and Volume pot are working (sigh).

Disconnect the motors and see if they work by giving external supply, check for continuity first on motor terminals.
If the motors test good, trace the supply.
If remote controlled through processor, please don't fool around, most of the parts are difficult to impossible to get.
