Hello,
Yes Joe, i will organize a group buy for the PCB and open a dedicated wiki for this project. Unfortunately, i'm very busy right now.
I try to do it very soon !
Thank you for your interest 🙂

Hello, nice job. How do you surface mount chips at home? How do you cut square holes into the aluminium panels? Thanks
Hello Akis,
SMD parts are soldered with a small iron tip, and a magnifying glass.
The front and rear panel has been machined by schafferAG.

Hi Frex I currently use Easy PC..which is good for the PCB side but the schematics leave a lot to be desired.. I normally redraw them in Labcenter ISIS for presentation/documentation and Im looking for a package that does both well.. I've tried most packages and your PCAD schems and pcb look nice ..but I think the latest Altium is a bit bloated for my needs. Rob
Hi Rob,
I use PCAD2002, that became now Altium.

Hi all,
Just a quick post from my holidays for saying that the PSU project is not closed. I work on it to finish and test all functionnality. I hope you say more about that and propose bare pcb's of this design before the end of summer. See you soon !

Hi,
i'm currently looking for a good Lab PSU and your project looks _very_ promising. I wonder if you still think you'll bring this to a level where a "solder by number" guy might have a chance 🙂

Hi all,
The project is not dead at all, i'm just very busy from this summer because i moved.
As i promised, i plan to organize a group buy for the bare PCB and if possible for the transformer (because it need some skill) , as soon i will fix some last issues.
I need to find a little time to do that.
I will post when this will be done.
Thank you very much for your interest 🙂

Super! Good news! I'll stand by 🙂. Imho making the Transformer available somehow is crucial if this design should reach a greater Audience, because not many will be able to do that themselve. Manybe you/we can find a manufacturer who is willing to do that for a quantity which a group buy cana achieve. BTW: Thanks for your already excellent community support. I'm very impressed of the quality of both your work and the willingness to support a broader audience with it. Mike
Hello Frex.
Your project interests me too. I wonder price kit or complete product. I'd like to arrange a small home workshop and your power supply I could use. It is very usable.
Thank You for the information.

Hi Frex,
I would offer to handle an initial group buy (with a limit of 150 orders) (that is payment handling, order management and shipping) if that would help you.
That would however only include some key-parts, like the pcb, the special trafo (if we can find someone who'll wind him to spec. But there are a lot of companies here in Germany who might be able to do that) , the predriled Front & Back etc.
Rest of the parts may be possible if someone provides me with the ready-to-ship presorted parts.

Hello Mike,
I would be very happy to open a PCB group buy for the project, but as i had already said i'm still working on it to fix all issues, and sell a not fully functionnal PSU doesn't satisfy me.
So, 99% of the job has been made and the power supply work well, but finding time to end the project is really really hard to me right now.
I would organize myself a PCB group buy as soon i finished it, and i would encourage you (and help you as i could) if you want organize a group buy for some parts.
I thank you very much for your interest, and i apologise for the delay !
Regards.

Hello albry,
and i thank you for your interest.
The project is alive, but despite my efforts the final steps to get a really "fully-working" projet seem to take some time that i don't have...
I still hoped to finish it in the next month and provide to all those who want an affordable bare board with a complete design folder to build it as my previous designs.
Regards.
