Cheap ADSP21489 + 4in / 6out PCM1798 board

No worries. There are six i2s connectors on main board 4 for outputs and 2 for input. They are used for expansion 'cards' like DAC, ADC and spdif I linked. See photo with pinout.

Thats how I would try to connect RPi on this board. Of course I cannot guarantee it will work.. It should but you never know.
Problem is that board is closed source, now you cant even connect dsp to sigmastudio, so you able to use provided PC software only.
If you need option that is not in software, or some functions not working well then its a big problem - Nvarcher shop support.. and most support on aliexpress is terrible they will answer 1 sentence a day max.. I've been trying to get software/schematics from them ( which are necessary to work with dsp) and.. I gave up after 3 weeks of conversation(!). Was lucky to download from other source.

I wrote earlier - if I had knowledge I have now before I wouldnt buy it, I would get second hand minisharc board which has good documentation and support.
Would save me a lot of nerves. Think twice if this board is what you need

USB interface seems fine.

So how you want it all connected? And what you gonna do with i2s over hdmi?

RPi have one i2s connection. Look at pinout. And you connect Rpi to one of inputs on dsp board - IN A/B or IN C/D look for pinout on schematics for those.

Then in Moode Audio or volumio or whatever you choose chipdip-dac(99% sure it was this one) as output, and set resampling to 96khz.
Its tested and working
