New to the TU-8600s. Question has anyone installed the Dueland CAST-PIO-Sn/Cu Tinned Copper Foil Capacitors. Will they fit? Any thoughts on sound if you have used them.

There are a lot of good caps made in USA why you are looking at caps needed modification?

Got the kit recently. Have not started building it. Reading that many people upgrade the coupling caps. I would rather install the caps only one time.

Hi. I was going to order upgraded v-caps to replace the stock 0.1uf 450vdc in my 8600s; however, I noticed the lowest v-cap 0.1uf voltage option is 630vdc on v-cap’s website. Is the 630vdc not an issue?

I am curious has anyone added RCA inputs and a selector switch to the rear of the EL8600S? Would or should I anticipate issues? It’s just cleaner than adding an outboard box to switch source inputs. I need at least three inputs.

How good is the phono preamp in the TU8550. I was looking to get a phono preamp because I just picked up a nice used Rotel RP955 turntable with a high output MC cartridge sumiko Blue Point #2

TU-8550 uses 6 tubes
3 for phono 12AX7x2 + 12AU7 x1
3 for line stage 12AX7x2 +12AU7 x1
It is easy to build and good quality

Unfortunately I haven't tried the 8550 with my turntable so I can't comment on the phono stage, but I've been using it daily for most of the year with various other Elekit amps and it is dead quiet, neutral and very well made. I suspect the phono stage is good as well.

I picked this up for switching inputs for my TU-8600s. Opened it up and cleaned and lubed the switches. Will use only one half of it but extremely well built and $47. It’s a place to start as i have a turntable, CD and streamer feeding my amp.

I just finished building my TU-8600s. Took me a few days a couple hours at a time. Popped in my least expensive tubes in case it smoked:) Turned it on and away we went into musical bliss considering my test speakers are Polk T15 driven by a Samsung phone streaming Apple. I am going to let it run a couple hours and cool it down and start over playing and burning in. I look forward to seeing what it sounds like with my Klisch Heresey IV and Mbl CD and Rotel RT-955 turntable. I have a lot to do making up for lost time out of the hobby raising a family. What fun this was. Thank you Victor for bringing such great products to the US market. Fingers crossed this runs trouble free and now onto finding a phono amp project.

Victor is there any sense taking it apart and checking voltages if it is working properly?

You must check all test points while the amp is running without no input
You can access all test point locations with no top PCB cover

Ok I will do that this evening and not run it until then. Any thoughts on these tubes being the best to use.
