I won't be up much later, so I wish to make a toast to all of you. To those who I will never met in person, to those who I will, to those who I know not, to those of you who I do, May 2024 be a better year, May your relationship be better, May your health improve, and may your outlook on life be as the sun shines on the earth.
Bless you. Be happy.

I had a couple of old bottles of cognac from the house next door. The resident died (at 99 years old RIP) about a year ago and his son gave me the bottles. One was Courvoisier VSOP and the other was Martell something. Both corks were dust and we filtered the cognac.
I've had cognac before, and I've had Courvoisier VSOP. But after sitting in the basement for probably 30 years or more (both bottles were from an Israeli duty free shop) It was so smooth, like drinking honey. The bottles didn't last long and were both finished off right before Christmas.

My favorite whiskey is Sazerac Straight Rye. I often keep an eye out for it in whiskey auctions to add to my collection.
A local brew that is VERY limited in distribution. Pretty much the seacoast region of NH and ME where I live. To my tastes a near perfect beer for this time of year. It's a pale ale but not overly hoppy (in terms of aromatic hops). Somewhat bitter but not too much so, and not a lot of citrus, which I don't love in most beers. Flavor is mostly barley malt. None of those oddball flavors which, to my tastes, often seem like an off beer (wine is a different thing to me regarding range of flavors). Nicely light in color and only 5.5% alcohol. Yum. But pricey!!! I don't often drink it, sadly.
Sansui SP-2000 crossover in the background, which I'd just finished re-capping. Cabinet is being worked on too. Sadly the tweeters seem to be shot, at least in this one speaker. Maybe I'll get two working ones from the other cabinet? One can hope.
Oh, and a bottle opener I got in Denmark in 1979 or 1980 when I played in an international soccer tournament there with teams from the US, Denmark and Sweden.
