I'm collecting resources for H-bridge
amplifiers. Some car audio manufacturers
are using this type of design for their
subwoofer amplifiers.

If you have some resources or info,
can you post.

The selling point seems to be the single
rail suppy vs. dual rail to allow high
powered amplifiers in a smaller chassis,
but the output stage has 2x more
transistors, four vs. two of traditional
design.

I just posted a simulated design for this type of subwoofer amp I call the N-champ3.

The single power supply rail is really no big deal when using a switchmode power supply. With the SMPS, you can use less heavy duty parts in the power supply when using two rails, and you do not need to worry about problems with ground reference.

You can use only one power supply with any bridge amp as long as you make a virtual ground. But why bother when it is just easier to add the lower rail IMHO.
Take Care.
