I have a similar cab with my rack in it and game consoles etc. It's open back and no fan it is fine. That said, I never run it wide open for hours on end, but maybe your wives like that LOL. My system is in basement man cave and it is a HUGE horn thing but if everything gets put away, no clutter, etc my wife is cool with it. I am toying with the notion with hiding the setup completly with red cinema curtains once I move to projection just to add to the cinema vibe. No room for popcorn machine though :-(
