That’s not the Pearl, it’s noise from something external, try moving the Pearl chassis away from other things (or vice-versa). Also try engaging the input zobel. (DIP switch #8)
Make sure you have electrical connection between all the chassis panels, that’s a very common way for noise to get into the circuit.
The ferrite will also quite likely help once you get it.

with some surface mount JFETs, the gate could use an SMT inductor -- BF862 for sure.
RFI and EMI can migrate via power cords, inter-connects umbilicals etc. An Analog Devices application note mentioned that 1N4148's of the clear variety (they are available as MELF) can be modulated by fluorescent lighting!

Not to clutter this thread take a look at the linked thread below about a Bugle clone with 40dB of gain for use with MM cartridges.
I like the results. Just for fun I might hide it in a P-3 enclosure and see if anyone can hear the difference.

When I first got my preamp and Pearl 3 up and running, I had a buzzy hum deep in the background that sounded a little different than BPR's. A few days later my wife mentioned that her computer power supply had quit charging her laptop and through a series of tests had discovered a bad power strip... I turned on the Stereo, on a completely different circuit, btw, and the buzzy hum was gone. It hasn't come back. Check for any inverter type power supplies etc. in your house. Sooner or later you'll find the culprit. Good luck.

I think the Pearl 3 was too close to the wifi mesh router. I moved it farther away and the noise diminished. If I can move it away even farther, I imagine I can get the noise floor even lower. The ferrite clamps may help too once the mouser package arrives. I'll report back once I make these additional changes.
Sam Groner's 60dB LNA uses 4 1N4148's for a 2.4 Volt reference. I covered them with electrical tape.
My Pearl 3 lives! It's sitting naked on the bench, but it's hooked up and playing music. The only thing I could listen with right now is my Starving Student II which sounds good but gives me a whole 2 degrees of volume adjustment before it's too loud. Can't wait to try it with my other amps.
So this arrived in the mail today - A free review pair of Burson v7 Dual Vivids opamps.
This is a quick first impression as they have not burnt in, and I will do a full review later.
These replace the stock OPA 2604s and the LME 49720 I have tried.
First off, One caveat. There appears to be a loose connection/contact in one of the units, which demanded some work on my part; I hope to have this replaced, as I am not sure if it may be temporary. I did not open it up to void the warranty.
The 2604 that came with the kit was excellent. They were detailed, spacious, and relatively warm. I was pretty satisfied with them.
The 49720s seemed more detailed but made me more aware that I was listening to a stereo system.
The v7 Vivids are, in a word, awesome. They are more detailed and reveal more information; however, the primary impression is "relaxed," not in the sound but rather in me.
All that extra info made my brain do less work to create the impression of live music. I had less to fill in with my imagination so I could lay back and let the music wash over me. Specific details were more detailed, with a fuller harmonic representation of instruments, more dynamics, and a more redolent, detailed, and tighter bass. I don't know if the vivids were warmer than the 2604s, but they were undoubtedly richer and smoother. I had expected them to be more etched due to the added detail, but they seemed to get closer to reality instead.
These are excellent, and I can't wait to listen more and see if they change over time. I would like to hear who else has tried these.
