Hello

I'm looking for amps using the SV811-3A in push-pull, A1, preferably around 20W output. Anyone know of any schematics? I would love to design a outputstage myself, but my knowlegde is somewhat limited... I dont even know if it is possible to get ~20W from these tubes. I've seen 300B amps (pp) with a 20W output, and they are 40W dissipation tubes though...
I'm thinking of a high end amp here, with interstage transformers and stuff. Maybe a ECC99 driver or a 5842?

The best PP amp I have ever seen, from the point of view of correct technical design is Lynn Olson's Amity. It is very similar in layout to what you are suggesting, but with a 20W 300B output stage.

If you are hellbent on the 811's, or you have them already, get a copy of the Tubecad ( www.tubecad.com ) design software, and work out the appriate operating points, and viola good PP amp.

It was Lynn's writing that got me back into working with tubes, and I have all the components for an Amity except for power transfprmers, but I now have speakers approaching 108 dB sensitivity above 200Hz (biamped) so the Amity is a bit of overkill.

Cheers
