Line stage using 6V6, 6W6, 6G6, 6F6 etc. in triode?

There are many happy builders of 6V6 line stages thanks to the long thread on this. But what of all the other similar pentodes/tetrodes that can be used in triode?

What have been your experiences with these, and which were you most pleased with?

6V6 - 6.3V/
6W6 - 6.3V/1.2A
6Y6 - 6.3V/1.25A
6F6 - 6.3V/700mA
6G6 - 6.3V/150mA
6K6 - 6.3V/400mA

I prefer those with cylindrical geometry. The 6F6 is one my favourite pentodes.

The original 6F6/2A5/42 is like that but now and then a few with oval plate can be found. Same construction for 6G6 (i.e. mostly cylindrical and some with oval), but I have only listened to your amp which liked a lot.

The 6V6 I have only seen it with oval plate and 6Y6 and 6W6 with box plate.

The 6K6 I have seen with all shapes! Cylindrical, oval and box plate.

As a preamp and driver the 6G6 is the most efficient/convenient with its 150mA heater current, IMHO. In most cases 10-12 mA anode current are enough.....
