51hz standing wave.

My room has a 51hz standing wave. Suggestions to kill it without EQ? Maybe a diffuser or bass traps? Some kind of foam?

Helmholtz resonator is probably the best for targeting certain frequency, but do not expect it kills the standing wave completely.

From a technical aspect, which is better, EQ or trapping? I'm presuming the problem is a peak, if so, wouldn't it be better not to put the energy into the room in the first place?

I both do acoustic and electronic correction, because ideal acoustic correction requires way too much space and money. My concern about EQ correction is, distortion (H2) at different frequencies from the amp and speaker would be less linear with EQ correction, which would be audible as an artificial effect.
