Oh yes absolutely, 18L is VERY small. That's why the DSP EQ curve for the subwoofer looks like this:
Shelf filter with Q=3.1. +8dB boost at 43Hz (=Fb). Steep rolloff below.
In your simulation the HPF filter is not steep enough because it doesn't limit the excursion enough at 20Hz. The excursion peak at 20 should be smaller than the excursion peak at 50. Try a shelf filter similar to this instead.
