This might be a long shot, but look on the main projectors PCB and see if there is a spare socket for a wire connector to go into. It should be near the data cable for the projectors ballast. Some projectors have a spare connection just in case a service technition replaces the ballast with an old version. I managed to get my projector bypassed by the spare connection on the main PCB as the primary one was digital and could not be bypassed with a lot of effort.
