Hi,
It would need the Bias adjusted. Write to Simon and ask if you can send a pair over to be fitted and the adjustment made, if you buy it.
Note that a D3a will give nearly 6dB more gain.

Can the uber-cole use D3A's in the output spot? I've been eyeing this phono stage, not really wanting to build my own. However, I have plenty of D3A's but no 6688s.

Hi,
It does not mean the D3a cannot be used, just that the circuit needs small chages and that you will have nearly 6dB more Gain.

thanks Thorsten. I somehow thought the mu (triode strapped) was similar but I see it is different.

Hi,
There is a switch.
Sure...

Also, I noticed that there is one MM input and one MC input. Can they be used simultaneously, with a switch or something.

I have two arms and was thinking of using my existing HOMC and obtaining a LOMC for the other arm.

Does anyone know what the output impedance of this phono is with the 6688? I purchased the standard one (not modified for D3A as discussed before). I also use the Tram 2 OTL preamp and would like to locate my vinyl setup somewhat far away from rest of system (~4m or so). However, I don't want to compromise the performance too much.
I know the Tram 2 has a Zout of 500ohms, so I could locate the preamp near the phono is necessary, but would rather not.
