Excellon Drill files from Gerbers

I was able to generate the .DRL files correctly on my old PC, so project stall averted for now. Good thing I kept the old PC to hand!

Onward and upward with kiCAD 7

KiCad currently supports PCB designs from:

• Altium Circuit Maker
• Altium Circuit Studio
• Altium Designer

I use Diptrace because the learning curve is not as steep.
Good enough for my needs.

Update. My old PC has completely crashed and when I run the disk repair utility, it comes back and says the disk is not repairable. Looks like I got a new PC just in time!

I cannot generate.DRL files at all from Traxmaker on the new machine - the files are garbage so it is what it is.


The good news is I've started using KiCAD 7 and am in the process of recapturing the new nx2 Amp schematic. I have to say it is a very nice package to use. I watched 2 videos on YouTube and I was on my way. Will be interesting to do the layout in KiCAD - I'm looking forward to that!
