HK Citation 12 PS question

Recently acquired an HK Citation11 & 12 pair from the mid 70's. I noticed a 1K resistor across 2 of the 4 caps in the PS of the HK12 that does NOT appear in any schematic nor on the parts list of the HK12. Has anyone found this in an HK12? Anyone know why HK or someone would install such a resistor?

Those are 1k resistors. Seem to be intended to discharge the positive supply quickly.
Perhaps this reduces turn on/off noises.

Some of these were kits, so maybe someone did this as a personal thing.

thanx for the quik reply. Makes sense but not too effective. This unit has the usual HK12 thump.

Try more resistors on the negative supplies?
I would either use four or none, myself.
