Does anybody know where to get some cheap knob for amp,preamp etc.. I d'ont want those extremly costly precision machined aluminum knob or the like.

You could get those cheap plastic imitation knobs... some of them are actually rather good.

Try Radio Shack. I know, I know, but they have some nice looking knobs and they are cheap.

You could get some Aluminium rod cut, I did this for some feet/equipment spacers. If you can drill a hole in the centre and somehow lock it to the shaft you'd have a nice heavy knob.

After some frustration finding a good volume dial, I finally had to machine my own... if you have access to a lathe, it's pretty quick to build one.

But, there are some nice knobs available from digikey for a variety of prices. I like the Kilo brand knobs, which are solid aluminum and very nice, but not super-cheap. As I recall, Mouser also carries a decent selection, and you should be able to find what you want there.
