Ha, ha. Yes yellow glasses great for helicopters. Please let me know what you think when you get them. They made night driving much less stressful for me. Let us know if you notice any benefits or disadvantages.
My yellow tinted prescription glasses arrived a few days ago, and tonight was the first time I tried them for night driving. They are excellent! All lights, including oncoming LED headlights*, are much less harsh/dazzling and my eyes feel completely relaxed rather than tightened up. I feel like I can just focus on driving rather than constantly trying not to be blinded.
I can't thank you enough for recommending them.

* which take on a light greenish hue, which I found odd - but I guess that makes sense since yellow and blue make green
Excellent.
Glad to hear it. That's how I feel during night driving, much less annoyed and tense. I also noticed the greenish tint to the LED headlights. Even with yellow filters, they are bright - but not nearly as blinding. Enjoy the drive!

I really dislike LED bulbs..
I have a 300watt incandescent that I love though 🙂 (Lights up my room alot better than the 100watt I had)

Context: I live in a region with clouds and dark winters.
The ex wife suffered from winter dark days she would get very depressed.
anyone here has tried newer LED bulbs with filament-style designs. I've noticed they seem to have better power factor and less EMI, and I’m curious if they’re actually quieter in audio setups than the earlier switching ones people mentioned. Anyone tested some of the newer models with sensitive gear nearby?
I remember I had similar flickering issues with cheap LED bulbs before switching. What worked best for me were lasola lampen — they’ve been solid with no buzzing or strobing, even on dimmers. Their color temperature looks way more natural too, especially compared to the cold blue tint I got from older LEDs. Not the cheapest, but I haven't had to replace any yet.
Forget about separate bulbs and try new mains fed COB LED fixtures instead. Just 2 to 3 holes to be drilled (often 1 of the existing ones can be reused) so no big deal. These have no SMPS onboard anymore and produce way less mains pollution. Why DIYers are often quite reluctant to apply new lighting fixtures I do not know. It is an easy and rewarding job. Just choose power and light color wisely on a per room basis. Some can be changed from warm white to cool white and output power with dip switches or by an app (but then your fixtures emit RF).
The E14/E27/B15/B22 LED replacements seem the easy way out but please be aware that better solutions exist that have better light distribution. They look better too and usually are flatter.
