hello , i have just built 5v super regulator based on diy audio store pcb. on output there is RMS 5,18V and amplitude 158mV. Is it good result for this kind of regulator? if not how to inprove that? what other measurements can i take to evaluate my build ?

P.S. i am newby

Is the input (transformer, rectifier, cap) connected to ground somewhere?

It seems that the regulator works OK, but you can verify the voltages at pin 2 and pin 3, they both should be at 2.5V.
Do you have a LED in series with the output? What is the voltage at pin 6?

I am also intrigued how you can measure the 218mV so accurately with a scope?
