I got a very tiny tear in one of my 4" midbass drivers. It's just a bit more than the width of a pin. I don't think this will affect the sound much but I'd like to know wich glue is the best to fix speaker cones.

Thnx all

I've fixed quite a few cones, but the glue or materials depends on what the cone is made of. For a paper cone, I've used a small square of cigarette rolling paper with a tiny amount of wood glue successfully. For plastics, a little bit of rubber cement applied with the tip of a safety pin works well.

I'm in Europe and the speakers in question are the good old Heybrook HB3's. If you offer a service to replace the cone I would consider using it, although I've already bought a kid to replace the outer foam rings.

Cones are made of paper. I'd like to know the method used by professionals so that the cone gets restored completely to it's original specs, maybe asking too much😱

What you are contemplating is not a good idea. You have been given a simple effective easy to do and almost free repair. Place one small dot of white wood glue on the small hole that you have on your cone from the back side of the cone. This will be a perfect fix and have zero impact upon the performance and sound of your speaker. To attempt to recone one driver for this type of damage is foolish and your speakers will never sound the same. Fix the hole and get on with life. If you simply cannot stand the idea of having a pinhole in one of your woofers then buy a new pair of woofers from Harbeth and sell the old pair to recoup some of the cost. Do what you will but if the damage is as you say a pin hole in a paper cone the given fix is all you need and will be a perfect repair. Best regards Moray James.
