What would be the easiest way to block GPS signals...
The purpose will be to block the GPS router from a car...
would a simple sopper cladding work?
Thanks in advance!

I think you mean COPPER. If you want to do it by inhibiting the reception, why don't you simply disconnect the antenna ?

I have to laugh a bit... I just remembered what the American general say during the War in Iraq...
"It was unhelpful of the Russians to sell Iraq 4 GPS jammers just prior to the war."
And with a wry smile said... "All four Russian GPS jammers were removed single GPS guided bombs"

in a company were a friend works they plan to fit the cars with a gps tracking system, so that they are able to record the route and so on....
like the tax system introduced in germany.....
I don´t know any facts of this system, it´s not implemented yet, but to simply pull out the antenna wan´t cure it...
what´s your substantiation to the company if you never have reception to gps
yeah, big brother is watching you!
@ analog_sa
the circuit looks not to tricky, but I´m not sure if it´s worth the effort as I am not a terrorist (be it bu*h or o*ama) .....

Probably just homed on the jamming signal. At such times any form of RF radiation is like a bulls-eye with a sign saying "shoot me".

I remember having read an article in EW+WW quoting studies carried out at a US university.
They were saying that with only very low RF power it was possible to jam GPS signals within miles, and that they were very concerned if GPS would be used as a sole means of navigation within civil aviation.

Don't you think that the people of the GPS tracking system will have constructed the system with GPS jammers in mind?
A jammer would need to emit radio waves which would also be received by the GPS system. Wouldn't they simply have that system make a log entry of suspicious signal losses?
Some of the newer cell-phone relay methodologies interfere with GPS and other radio services (emergency, military and amateur radio), and it's causing a real stir with the FCC.
So basically, you want our help to break the law? 🙂
Obviously not, if anything, I'd strongly suggest not to try and jam any signals.
Selling and/or using GSM jammers is no longer allowed in the EU, perhaps even a felony. I wouldn't be surprised if that also goes for GPS.
What I meant to say is that systems that rely on GPS for tracking will probably be able to detect the use of jammers to impede its reception. That detection will probably be logged with the rest of the tracking information that's used by the company or government that employs the system.
