Hi, does anybody have the speaker grill drawings for KEF 104/2 ?
If not any idea where could I find it?
I've been looking to buy the grills online, but either the shipping is too expensive or the seller is selling only one grill with a pricey shipping costs.

Could you not manufacture grilles from the speakers? I assume those shown in your second pic are your speakers.
KEF once had a design where the grilles were fabric with elasticated edges. They wrapped around the front baffle and the elastic held them in place in a groove around the baffle. That may work with yours, depending on the tweeter recess.
Alternatively, if you're buying to sell it may be worth going straight to KEF.

Hi,
Thank you for your answer! I'd like to make the grilles to the original dimensions. Therefore making the grilles "blindly" wouldn't work for me. I guess I'll keep searching for drawings or buy them from ebay when someone lists them up.
Cheers!
The 104.2 grille was designed for low diffraction. It was basically a 4 sided box with the sides tapered in stay tight to the MTM module. The front edges of the sides were radiused and just a smidgeon forward of the MTM cabinet. (Just enough to keep the grille cloth from touching the baffle. I think there were two internal braces at the top and bottom that created the mounting area for the grille posts ("Tree lock" style"). There was a big recess at the bottom for the large grille badge.
As a guess the material was 15 or 19mm MDF, but it would be whatever is required to fill the gap between MTM cabinet and bass cabinet.
That should be enough info to get you going on reverse engineering your own grille.
Note that a properly shaped grille is important to getting the full performance of this sophisticated design.

Thanks David. But I won't make the grill from scratch w/o the drawings. Seems like lot of work. Have a good day. 🙂
Did you post an inquiry to hifiloudspeakers.info?
No, I havent. Thanks for the information. I'll contact them and let you know asap. Cheers!
