Long story short, I had an issue with a tube, but was outside the scope of what was reasonable to expect anything (purchased a while ago, but only recently started to use it). E-mailed more as a FYI and he immediately took ownership and offered a replacement to fix things. Very, very good service and really appreciate it.

Would have been fairer to have have had a thread 'good experience with supplier', started with your tale, and then let others give their experiences.

Well, I have bought hundreds of dollars worth of tubes at one auction site from dozens of vendors over the last decade or two and have been very happy with my purchases. I believe I have had two bad purchases; both my own fault for buying "pulls" instead of NIB.

I've had NOS tubes test bad. It's better to purchase from someone who can test them and they know what they were doing with a good/calibrated tube tester.

Brent knows what he's doing. There are less people who know what they are doing with regards to tube testing and selling, less tubes of several types because they're old.

Tubes start dying as soon as you start using them, like people start getting older and closer to dying as soon as they're born. Enjoy life.

It is clearly a difference of philosophy. This is diyAudio: I am encouraging users to be independent, to learn about tubes, and to do it yourself.

You are simply implying with your statements, "Be afraid; very afraid. Tubes are arcane, unfathomable, incomprehensible, and you will get swindled if you don't pay big money for common tubes."

That's why I said enjoy life.

And, I'm not afraid or averse to using tubes. Nor do I believe they are arcane, unfathomable, etc.

Over 1000 tubes and 10 tube amps says otherwise.

You can get all that from the other forums, not here on DIY. I'm sticking to my DIY tube amps and tubes. That's the only reason I'm here.
