Who else besides Wima makes film / foil capacitors of 1uF and larger? FKPs are sold out at all my usual suppliers. I'd like to avoid the likes of Mundorf, Riken etc. and stick with an industrial manufacturer.
Kemet (Evox/Rifa) do the PFR510 series, but only up to 22nF, PHE448 up to 3.3nF, A72 no stock above 220nF, and R73 also no stock anywhere.
I'd be grateful for any ideas 🙂
Edit: I almost forgot CD "Orange Drop" 716P, but also no stock.

Rather than trying to differentiate between an undefined 'boutique' or not, maybe set a 1uF price limit as a reference.
Although the largest i saw was 470nF/100v these are mylar film foil caps that are found in lots of industrial equipment and high end audio equalizers, filters, etc...Those marked NIS were pretty good and looked for in japanese audio.

Polystyrene can't usually go over 100nF due to size.

Funny, just bought 10 EPCOS-TDK from digi-key 1uf. Their MKP-X2 series. It is a 1 µF Film Capacitor 305V 630V Polypropylene (PP), 2000 in stock if in the US.

Did you look at CPC farnell? Their UK seems to have WIMAs FKP2 and possibly others/capacities?

I did indeed! They have no free shipping threshold to South Africa alas, so an extra £60 or so for the order. But I may end up going that route.
Fillm and foil is a construction technique, which differs from the far more common metallised film approach. The dielectric (polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene, etc) is s separate consideration 🙂.
