The question is why woud someone toe in bass drivers like that.
Dunno. But they are custom "Auggies"... designed by the famous George Augspurger. Pioneer/TAD components... Probably crossed over too high for most people's taste here...
They don't quite go into the 20s though... guys who want to go that low complement them with subs, as is being recommended to me.
Wow 😱 this one ADAM ADAM S7A MK2 - ADAM - Monitor Systems - Professional Audio Design has a price tag...
But JBL had monitors similar to these
They had perscription in the manual that minimal listenung distance was 3 meters in order all sounds to blend properly.
This is again a JBL All Mighty
But this time with design towards horisontal dispersion.
Mark levinson had monster monitors too. Again of the modern big McIntosh type.
Maybe if you are going to have an untreated reflecting floor it wuld be better to have speakers optimized for horisontal dispersion.
And if in the end you get nowhere, you can always put your hands on a modern dual concentric Tannoy "15 and cement it in the wall 🙂 at least they always sing loud and clear. Wonder if they sell driver units as spare parts...
- They Have a point.Furthermore, it is essential for neutral sound characteristics at high volumes to achieve a wide dispersion in the horizontal plane and a somewhat narrower dispersion in the vertical plane, thus reducing reflections from the ceiling, the floor or a mixing console. Less reflection means superior imaging and better localization, facilitating the best possible transportability of mixes across the widest range of playback systems.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
