Aleph 3 and some explanations

Hello guys

I am a happy owner of this amplifier, built with my own hands, reading here in the forum I saw that you can make some mods .
Here are my questions :

1) do you need to increase the supply voltage if you want to use max bias?
2) it is possible to implement ccs modification of W.Newby ?

That is all for the moment. 😎

Thank you all

- clarify No. 1 - what are your intentions and give us details of your amp

- I think I know exactly what you mean with Newby tweaks , but link to exact thread could help other members/readers ; most imoprtant thing you can easily make on your amp is putting that 5V6 zener across small bjt in Aleph CCS , that cures almost everything needing cure

Thanks ZEN for your kind reply.

N1 I would like to raise the bias as much as possible. on this topic: Top ten ways to a better Aleph? ,
there is also talk of bypass the resistance to set the bias. My intention is to exploit all the possible changes on this circuit to make it better .
My A3 clone is powered at 25v as the original schematic.
Using active cooling, I would like to set the max bias

Hi Friend! Your amp is working?
If is positive your answer. Does sound good? Are you satisfied with the sound?
If is positive this answer, How mucho power you expect to obtain? How much distortion you expect to improve?
The system is paired with your transducers ? If your answer is positive again, lets every thing like you found before. The numbers that you look improve are not listeneables.
Obviously this is my humble opinion. Maybe you can afford a new system with more future in power, character or flexibility
The best regards for you and obviously every diagram flow of questions could be negative answers and I must to reformulate the idea. I hope to help you signore mio

I do not know if it is a good thing peanut butter and chocolate, in Italy we prefer chocolate and that's it, the second part of the message does not happen to it, i'm sorry

Apologies - I thought everyone had enjoyed a 'peanut butter cup' before.

I am saying I think you have a good match - I like Klipsch with Aleph, although the Heresy is a bit bass shy and the Aleph can be perceived like that as well.

ok ,post exact schematic as you made it
Mpsa18 replace with bc550 aleph-3.gif

change drain resistor under LTP , put two trimpots

for instant increase of Iq for +25% change ALL 0R47 resistors to 0R33

100K trimpot is (increase value ) for increasing of Iq

500R trimpot is for DC offset setting

in any case , do not go above 40W per mosfet ( that's rail voltage 25V x Iq)

in any case , above that is not wise to go , simply because then you need higher rails for more juice ..... with more output pairs etc.

I was about to write it and you preceded me. These changes have been made. I wanted to know if to increase Iq we have to increase voltage rail?
Increase Iq will not you lower the voltage rail? Because of the increased absorption?
