I hope you're aware that many (but not all) such "restoration" videos are actually shot after purposely ruining perfectly functional items, ranging from pens to planes. I also, however, hope that this truth doesn't spoil your viewing pleasure.
Judging by their set up I'm thinking it was a legitimate restoration but yes I'm aware that some of these things are staged, I'm very wary of animal rescue videos for this very reason.
