I ordered yet another tpa3255 board after the last one had its 12v onboard regulator fizzle and smoke everything downstream.
A different board this time around.
DIBuy has its challenges…
Also picked up about ten pounds of decent Canadian, non-gmo granola to replenish the stash.

Nothing, despite multiple efforts to pay TME for a pair of Heatsinks. Fraud alert from the bank> yes it was me, ok transaction> np, wait 20 min and run it again> 20 min later fail > fail > fail...
BTW, shipping a similar weight from TME to the PNW, US is 1/3 of the heatsinkusa quote.

I bought some rectifier boards from audiophonics with 20,000uf per side with fast recovery diodes and some three way screened power cable and a few lengths of braid to beef up the screening in my active speakers. They are very compact and this doesn’t leave much clearance between PSU and audio bits so I’m trying some screened cable to try to minimize the small amount of audio hash coming from the psu cabling.
A nice guy has just sent me his (broken?) iPod Classic Gen6 and I immediately ordered a new battery (850mA), a set of prying tools, a blue front shell and a yellow clickwheel.
A pair of Klipsch - $22.50 ea from my local Val-Vil thrift. Actually retrieved my portable pink noise tester to check before purchase; couldnt believe none of the drivers were blown in either cab...well, open circuit anyway. They seem to play fine and although the cabs finish is banged and mauled in the usual thrift store way, they're refinish-able.
How do the grills come off - get something behind it and pull? Someone stuffed a wad of plastic in there on just the one, I assume to keep the grille board from rattling against the baffle.

If you're sure they come off then 'back in the day' we used to screw a couple of fine screws somewhere inconspicuous and pull.
Once off staple a length of folded tape/material to the back and leave a little of it proud when you refit. Then in future all you need to do is pull the tape out to its full length and pull to remove.
Bought a pair of these off eBay from a UK designer of various interesting audio gear.
Active 24db LR crossovers, with output transformers to convert to balanced. One can populate the other stations on the daughter boards and use the dip switches to select different XO Hz. Also features an overall 24db system HP to help the subsonics. Currently set at 15Hz (-6db at 15) but I shall probably raise that.
Nicely thought out and implemented bit of kit. Look forward to using it.

Old 450W SMPS, for a computer, $2.
Needs some capacitor replacement, I have stock, no biggie.
Fairchild and Motorola transistors, 6109 IC, from 25th week 2009, still with seal on screws.
Washed it, will replace caps later, oil the fan, should work nicely.
New ones are $8 to 10, depends on capacity, and fancy 600 or 1000W units can go up to $50.

37 lbs of (I assume) class AB hangin' meat for $8 on Tuesday, which is 20% off store wide, so $6.40 plus tax. Had the youngin' carry it from the car into the downstairs garage for me. Great condition too, only checked power on at the store. No remote...
Edit - something must be wrong with my scale; manual says 47 lbs 6 oz...

People haven’t figured out that those old icky ones are actually the better ones.
Maybe after the switching power supplies start dying, they will wish they hadn’t tossed the old ones!
I keep a couple of those larger Denon units around also, usually have requests from friends/family for basic, decent power amps.
I scored a car leather interior kit for $500 after the company had been bought out by a competitor. Competitor wants $1200 for the same thing.
