Apple Homepod 4.5 driver enclosure recommendation for full range

hi ...

i have a pair of apple homepod midwoofers here (one actually planned for microsub project but abandoned due to over excursion issues that cannot be avoided even running on 4th order bandpass ) ... i plan to run them ported for full range ... but seems like the original application of the apple homepod was sealed with EQ application ... any issues of using ported as full range? thanks

Do you have any original enclosures or recommended enclosure volumes you can work with...as a starting point?
Yes, likely since it is a modern Apple product the 'unaltered' performance is probably rather weak. No doubt the performance is just so "hot-rodded" by DSP....that without DSP, I think it will perform poorly.
TS parameters and performance testing, (starting from scratch) maybe the only way to proceed...as Apple doesn't like to publish much.

initially i've bought two of these to design a pair of stereo ported mini subwoofer as a starting point ... then i start to realize that after taking the TS parameters it appears that this driver has a high QTS of around 0.6 and QMS is very high too around 7.3 ... FS was around 53Hz (this is my measured parameter not the official one) and it also tends to encounter excursion issue even after i redesigned it for bandpass duty ... yesterday i thought it was time to retire it from subwoofer duty so i pull them out from my trial and error bandpass box ... (running on TDA8950 at 200W)

Previously when it was running on bandpass it could hit around 40Hz quite good but it runs out of excursion pretty quickly

Now i reassign them for soundbar duty ... but a simple test run inside a sealed box the bass was really tight but lacking in the lower end ... i even read that some were against using ported for full range as there were some port resonance issues that might sound bad ... i am still considering of either using DSP with sealed box or just relying on ported box alone for the bass ...

Please post complete T/S specs and as for ported, some form of vented TL will work fine with higher Qts specs, just a matter of if it will ideally need to be too big for a soundbar, which you'll also have to spec max available size.
