Do I need 2 separate amp kits for 2 amps? One for subs and one for speakers. I was going to buy a 0 and 4 gauge kits, unless a better solution is suggested. Will I need anything extra, like RCAs? Thank you.
There are kits out there that are for multiple amplifiers. Those kits come with either a 4g through 0g for their main power wire then they include a couple of feet of smaller gauge wire such as 8g through 4g. They also include a distribution block (where the 0g goes in and has four 4g outputs).
Also keep in mind that most expensive kits (stinger, monster, kicker) dont include RCA's. So yes you'll need a pair or two.
If one of your amplifiers have RCA outputs then all you need is one long (12ft-18ft) RCA (two channel) and then a smaller (3ft) RCA to hook up the output from one amp to the other's input.
But you have too keep in mind that most amplifiers crossover the output and you dont want high signals going to your woofer amp (because you wont get any bass). Its kinda complicated but I'll do my best to help.

That helped, thanks. I bought a Stinger SHK201 0 gauge kit. In addition, I picked up a 0 gauge distribution block. I will be doing a somewhat DIY setup for my headunit.
What I already have purchased includes an HRT iStreamer DAC. It's not really meant to be a portable device, but for me it somewhat is. The build quality is high, so I am not afraid of it being damaged. It will serve two purposes: listening to my idevices at home and in the truck. I own an iPhone and an iPad so I wanted to take advantage of that. After some research I found out that there not many affordable choices for an aftermarket HU with a quality DAC. With the istreamer I have a decent starter DAC for the home and the go. It is my first DAC.
In the truck I will run an idevice to the istreamer, which outputs thru an RCA to an equalizer with a 7 volt line driver. The equalizer has RCA outputs for main, rear, and subwoofer lines. For now, I will run the front speaker RCAs to a Sundown SAX 100.4 amp. The sub RCAs lead to a Skar 1500 amp. This will drive two 8 inch Skar VVX subs. The Sundown amp will drive Image Dynamics component speakers.
