Thinking of having a sub custom built for me and I will be most likely be using a SAM 300D amplifier. Any suggestions for a driver and anyone with the experience of the following?
Volt 2500.1
Volt B2549
Volt 250.8
Seas L26ROY
Morel UW 1058
Scanspeak 23W/4557T02

The driver with alignments for the specs below is the more adequate for the power amp you have.
Power rating at 4 Ω 300 W
Power rating at 8 Ω 150 W
Note: you have both 4 and 8 Ω drivers. Needs to check power with excursion @Xmax.

Volt B250.8 is adequated and Morel is nice but needs more power.
Volt B2549 also needs more power from the amp but they model well enough.

Not on your list, but my favorite subwoofer of the moment is SB Acoustics SB34NRX75-6. It works very well (and very low) in large sealed subs. A 77L selaed gives you (without eq) an F6 of 30Hz and an FS of 23Hz. If you need it lower, you can go to 150L and get an F6 of 29.5Hz and an FS just below 20Hz. It will easely fill your room (and overpower it) with that amp as it's 88dB on 2.83v/1m efficient in that setup. You can also put it in a vented box wich will go lower (in a 250L vented an F3 of 19 and an FS of 14Hz) and louder (90dB efficient).
My own actual sub is also a 77L box, but with the Scanspeak 26W/8534G00 driver, and that goes with an F6 of 32Hz and an FS of 24Hz, and is only 1.5dB less efficient. I did build this before i knew about the SB driver. I did build the 77L cabinet with the SB driver for a friend who listens to dub and is a bassplayer and requires a very deep and powerfull and defined bass. He loves it totally...
If that is too big, Dayton Audio makes drivers that can get that low in smaller boxes (i don't know the type by heart) and those are also great. Parts Express even have a flat pack for one of their drivers that work very well...
