I use bleed resistors too, but my Class A amps with lots of capacitance drain quickly. With the amplifier section not connected, the capacitors may take perhaps half an hour or so to drain. It is a balance between fast drain down and bleed current.
I also have LEDs in my power supplies so that I can tell at a glance whether the capacitors have any charge.
