Hi everyone, has anyone ever had experience with bnc 18tbw100. What are your thoughts on this speaker. Also does any one knows what guage coil wire is used on it?
The B&C 18TBW100 is a very well built high output woofer, good value for performance.
The Bl (magnetic strength) and Kms (stiffness of suspension) are extremely symmetrical, low distortion into the 13mm range.
The Xmech is 28.5mm, hard to hurt- I can do a push-up on the cone with no damage at all.
Works well in bass reflex or even sealed, and strong enough for horn use.
I don't know what wire gauge the copper split-wound coil is.
Instead of the coil being wound in a uniform layering around the former, the split-wound coil has more coil density outside its rest position in the magnetic gap where the Bl is focused than a uniform layer coil, so can maintain linearity through a greater excursion range.
The magnet structure design, its related flux strength inside and outside the gap, and the voice coil winding design establish a complex interaction that would not be the same as a conventional winding scheme using the same wire gauge.
At any rate, the gauge is enough to handle a 1500watt AES rating 😉

Ok, I appreciated the feedback. What about the 18sound 9601 and ntlw5000 as compared to the tbw100? Which one is better?
What is "better" depends on what you want the drivers to do and what you are going to use them for, where it will be used, what you will use above it, what enclosure type you have in mind, etc.
The 18Sound 9601 is similar to the B&C TBW100, neo magnet so lighter with more Bl.
The 18Sound 18NTLW5000 has considerably more displacement and a lower Fs, should get lower and louder given more power.
