Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
My name is Uli, I did an apprenticeship in 1986 as Radio-and TV-technician, studied afterwards precision engineering (Feinwerktechnik in German)
and work now for an international company which is leader in HVAC solution for cars as resident engineer at BMW in Munich.
I built this phono amp (still in progress) and hope it will do, what I expect in a way I did not expect (according to the specs it will 🙂 ).
The ones who are familiar wit KiCAD may know the interactive bom, or short ibom.
It helps sourcing and placing parts and since I'm a very visual guy, I needed that for building.
I hope it is ok, when I upload it here, it's a simple html, which was tested using Chrome and Firefox.
It's free of viruses, malware and anything else harmful.
If it's not ok, I will delete it of course.
Greetings form Munich (actually Freising, but nearly nobody knows that town)
Uli

One more ....
Due to the fact, the MM/MC switch is only available without the knob at Mouser and Co. I 3D printed one, which fits perfectly well.
Maybe you have to fix it with a small drop of glue, but I didn't need that.
Attached you will find the stl
Greetings

A couple interested questions..
Is the 50mA slow blow fuse good for 230Vac too?
And could MM and MC carts be played simultaneously at its inputs?

Hi,
the 50 mA slow blow fuse works for both 120 and 240 VAC. It’s there for fire safety only.
You can plug I. Both and NM and an MC and just use the switch on the rear to select one of the inputs.

This is awesome! Thanks a lot, some p*rn soon to come 😁✌️You can plug I. Both and NM and an MC and just use the switch on the rear to select one of the inputs.

...but don't rush it. Hope that you will be delighted with the result. 😀
Delighted, yes, definitely.
Not much time for vinyls these days, but glad I jumped on @fireanimal 's build. It's really neatly built, and proper sounding. It's definitely quiet and technically above all standards.
Took the opportunity to mount my second arm on a patched up wooden support and switching b/w MM and MC is now a breeze. Ok, just wish the pushbutton was easier to reach, but might get on with this 😉
Thank you very much @Bonsai , indirectly but genuine, and..
Here comes the goodies!

Thank you @Bonsai .
It is a NA Spacedeck, yes, prior owner had it new from the nineties, so with a 5Kg "light platter"; a very simple and effective design.
A Scobham/Zeus diy motor controller has been a great addition, first phono amp has been a diy ECC83, a diy Emerald then, a Whest Two.2.. and here (I am feeling that..) the X-Altra is definitely at a closer level to the source. Lively, powerful sound w/o unnecessary noises, be it from psu or from static/glitches/medium noise content.. not sure it is like this but could it be more forgiving of cartridge misalignments and dusty/dirty records too..

Спасибо @Bonsai.

Thanks for the feedback 👍
I’m looking at getting a 2nd deck (I have asked myself why Michell don’t offer a 2 arm base for the Gyro(dec) ). I looked at the NA Spacedeck - beautiful looking T/T that gets good reviews.

Ah, what’s going on? What kind of situation is this?
You write like a Victorian poet.
Do 'unfriendly' countries also ban translators now?
I cannot stop people cloning my designs. There are quite a few kx2, nx-amp and sx-amp clones running around, and the one above for the X-Altra MC/MM is just another example.
I have given the kx2 Gerbers to a a builder in Ukraine to share with the DIY community over there.

Hello, sorry for not answering this. I am in the middle of a house move, but will take a look tomorrow.
I haven’t tried this, but might start looking at it for some of my future projects. You get a much better finish compared to hand soldeting which is what I do. Hot air gun is also better.
