Building with the Soekris dam1121

Doesn’t the -01 version of the 1121 use a 570 clock?
Yes it has.

Why not use one of them as master rather than putting the 570 clock on your PCB? Or do you already have -02 1121s?
I set it up like this in my dual mono config.

I figured, that clock timing is something important, and it would be best, if the clocks on the 4 dam1121s run as synchron as possible.

The LVDS buffer have inter-output skews, that will (with the clock coming from one board) add on to the input to output delay of the LVDS buffer itself.

That means with off board clock, only the output skew will differ between the the boards.
In addition you can easily connect an independent voltage source to the clock.

At the moment I'm waiting for some answers from soekris.
One question is, weather I can connect the LVDS to the 4 dam1121s AC coupled.

I have change stock filter capacitor for 1,2nf styroflex, but lots of diyers just play with no capacitor and say is better , better hights. Rest od my 1021 dam is powered by life po4 bateries, with no i2s isolators. Rest not modded things for now are capacitor between fpga and shifts, and a clock. Not much info about a clock yet.

.... or if you made an oppsie and it has become clear that it is not possible due to ge clock solution - then say so and we can all move forward... it's the waiting thats frustrating....

Or even if we can only use the 4K taps on 1121s in master config. Please move the 1121 higher up the To Do list. This DAC always sounded the best of the lot and I would love to hear what those 4K filters bring to the table. They certainly were an improvement on the 1021.

4K filters for dam1121 is on top of my to do list, although the clocking complicates things, the FPGA code is updated, just need to update the uC code and the test setup is ready on my work desk.... But it will have to wait a little as I'm currently down with a really bad stomach flu....
