denon DP29f turntable issues

hi,

I have a denon DP29f turntable. are there any improvements possible in this kind. currently i get fairly loud sound such that my computer 2.0 channel speakers cant be pushed beyond half volume. else the sound distorts. whats really going on? the sound separation is good though and the detail i voice has improved after a adjusted the azimuth a little by hearing tests. this TT sadly has no other adjustments that i can make.. right?

would happy if anyone can give me a few tips o this TT and setting it up correctly.. I am new to using a TT.

thanks!

Amit

The turntable has a built in phono amp/equaliser, the output of which may be overloading the input of your computer speakers. Just keep the speaker controls turned down to avoid overload distortion.

You are correct that there are no user adjustments on this entry level turntable.

Its cartridge is not replaceable (although it is a record friendly MM type) and there is no adjustable tracking force or anti-skating.

Simply enjoy the turntable until such times you are in a position to upgrade your vinyl playing equipment.

Hi

Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes i keep the volume to half or below. I have also ordered a small phono amp box amp. lets hope it works better. it has gain and level knobs. i have no other stylus to check the orientation of the cantilever within its body. looks pointed a bit to the left towards the spindle when viewed from below .

The cartridge forms a single body with the headshell.

The headshell and cartridge body can be removed as shown in the service manual, and the whole assembly can be replaced:

This is probably how you managed to adjust the azimuth.

yes thats how i did it by loosening the screw and getting the sound right then locking the screw tight. it seemed that there was about 5 degrees of play in there.and it was initially all the way clockwise. i turned it a little about 3 degrees anticlockwise. i recall Not touching the stylus in the process. the voice that was unclear ..cleared up. the channel separation was way better. and the volume went up. i just left it there since i cant see anything ,its all by ears. 🙂
