Hi All,
Need the Schematic or SM for the Denon PMA-1500AE integrated Amplifier, as the input selector seems to have it's own life - shifting periodicly for no reason....
Thanks in advance 👍

no need for SM.
you dismantle the selectors, you disassemble it mechanically by clearly identifying all the initial positions, you clean the track, you straighten the skids of the slider a little and here we go again!

Thanks hoggygood 🙂
Sadly the selector is sadly not the whole problem to this issue, as the same happens when using the remote (which do not activate the mechanical selector in any way).
Got the schematic and SM now, so need to dig into those.....

believe me, take care of the selector first.
I repaired many Denon and some even changed sources on their own.
the rotary selector is the basis of everything.

Hello all,
I have identified the same problem on the same amp (it's 15 years old...), and clearly I'd like to clean the input selector before spending money in repairs... but I have no idea of the level of skill required. Can someone perhaps walk me through this or point me in the direction of a good how to? Specifically, disassembling/reassembling the unit?
Thanks in advance!

Huggygood kindly posted the schematic link in this thread: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/denon-pmr1500ae-preout-does-not-work-as-expected.336720/
Thanks for the lightning-fast reply! Unfortunately, as useful as that is (my electricity uni courses are rushing back at me!), I would still need something more "hands-on" for me to get cracking on this. Like actual instruction on how to open the unit and how to disassemble the switch.
I can no longer select a source on my PMA1500AE. This is not possible with the selector and the remote control. The indicator LED around the selector also does not light up. Does anyone have experience with this?

Start by checking the power supplies of IC 201 IC 202 and IC 901
